Frangelica Flook

My love of travel began in my childhood when with my Dad behind the wheel, and me holding a map, he gave me the freedom to navigate our family from London to Malta each summer.

Stopping wherever I chose, twisting and turning our way up mountain roads, occasionally getting lost, and staying in some incredible hotels and once, an old people’s home which we genuinely thought was a hotel; he opened my eyes to a world of adventure and exploration which is still very much with me.

Since those family adventures, I have never stopped looking at maps, working out the next stop on a lifetime of travel experiences. In the early years there were some scrapes along the way... a broken-down Land Rover in the middle of ‘I don’t know where’ in Botswana, or my Macmillan charity trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, which didn’t go entirely according to plan. It has however, been a journey made up of incredible experiences, where memories have been made and the local people have taken centre stage.

For over 25 years, I have helped others to discover their own adventures. Working alongside some of the best travel companies, including Abercrombie & Kent, and Bailey Robinson, and in partnership with luxurious hotels, off-radar camps and extraordinary lodges around the world, I am able to share my knowledge and expertise to guide clients towards their perfect holiday.

I have always been a curious traveller. I have immersed myself in wild and dramatic landscapes and sought out hidden pockets of lesser-known cities. I have felt privileged to experience diverse cultures and communities and have been mesmerised by extraordinary wildlife. It is this first-hand experience and knowledge that I love to share so that others can experience the world away from the well-trodden path that Mr Google tells us to visit!

Wherever you choose to travel...
- Appreciate everything, to travel is a privilege
- Be curious, push open the door even just a little
- Be flexible, have courage to go down a different path
- Be patient, stand still and the world will unfold before your eyes.

And when you meet a local, smile and the joy of travel will follow, and that is how memories are made.
